The fast switch of supplier is completed within 4 work days after the notification of the supplier’s inability to supply the customer with natural gas. However, it is necessary to apply for the fast switch of supplier at least 3 days after this notification.

The supplier of last resort is a safety net for households and small business that are free to choose their supplier of natural gas but for whatever reason have not done so. To note, the supplier of last resort is not obligated to supply natural gas to customers cut off due to illegal natural gas consumption.

The last type of switch of supplier of natural gas requires the registration of data. This includes the change of the supplier if it concerns the commencement or renewal of a takeoff point that has had illegal consumption and wants to renew supply or if it is a change in the supplier of a new offtake point or if it requires the change of the ownership of the offtake point (so-called “resigning”).It is necessary to submit the request for the change in supplier of natural gas through the registration of data latest by 7 calendar days before the required change is to come into effect.

The standard change in supplier of natural gas comes into effect always on the first day of each calendar month, which is stated in the application for the change of supplier. The fast switch of supplier of natural gas comes into effect the next day after the submission of the application and the change in the supplier through the registration of data is valid as of the date specified in the request for the switch of supplier (it is not tied to the beginning of the calendar month).
